I
wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it for
myself. Prior to using CO2 technology, the lowest I could get
my cooler was about 40°F, due to inefficiencies and losses.
Now, with the help of CO2, I can achieve 33°F.
We
have set up a cooler as our “super charged cooler”
by using twice the recommended amount of CO2. Normally a florist
would want to use flowers as soon as possible so that they are
fresh. However, we have found that the flowers will last longer
for the customer when we first place them in our “super-charged
cooler” for two days. Since the flowers last longer, it
allows us to work ahead on large projects. We also noticed that
when we make arrangements ahead of time, the cards no longer get
soggy, and the bows do not get limp.
I have
lowered my energy cost, reduced my spoilage, and increased customer
satisfaction. CO2 technology is so inexpensive that we can’t
afford not to use it. I own thirteen florist shops and we use
CO2 in every one of our coolers and reach-in display cases.”
